Tickets are $5 and available at the door. Books will be available for sale and signing. Doors open at 7 P.M.

A special guest, David Seaman, is flying in from Statesboro, Georgia for the Gala. He will read his poem, 'Waiting for Barbara,' inspired by "Waiting for Marianne" from Leonard Cohen's "Flowers for Hitler." In addition, we will have poets: Rona Feldman Shefler (a former classmate of Cohen's,) Erica Ruth Kelly, Jessica Mailas, Ehab Lotayef, erica n. white, Paris Elizabeth Sea, Blossom Thom, Ann Weinstein, WESTMOUNT HIGH teacher Ryan Ruddick, Sandra Stephenson, Linda Marics, Marcia Goldberg, Grace Moore, Meredith Darling, Lydia Lockett, Katherine Beeman, Nelly Roffé, Michael Mirolla, Denis Brault, Phyllis Guss & Sandra Sjollema.

All proceeds from the Gala and Silent Auction will support the Leonard Cohen Poet-In-Residence Program at Westmount High (Leonard's old high school.) The program aims to support an emerging Canadian poet by creating a poet-in-residence post at Westmount High. The chosen poet would have time to write as well as work within the school to inspire the student body to engage with poetry for pleasure and as a craft.
