Science

The Westmount science department is equipped with exceptional facilities for student experimentation and discovery. The school boasts 3 science labs as well as a dedicated technology lab.

From secondary 1 through 5 the emphasis is put on a hands-on approach to exploring scientific concepts. Students are expected to regularly verify the scientific principles learned in the classroom by conducting lab experiments under close supervision.

In the junior grades, the new curriculum introduces the students to a wide range of material including topics in the fields of chemistry, physics, and biology. In the senior grades the students concentrate on chemistry and physics with specializations in those subjects being offered in secondary 5.

We strive to improve the lives of our students by giving them the tools and skills that they will need to solve problems in a rapidly changing world.

Our team of teachers is supported by 1 full-time and 1 part-time lab technician.
